Treatments available from 1192

The CryoPen™ is an advanced cryotherapy innovation that is a fast, effective, safe and new solution for removal of skin imperfections.

How the CryoPen™ works

The CryoPen™ emits a fine jet of nitrous oxide under high pressure which reaches up to -89°C, which allows the clinician to work with millimetre precision. This destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, forming ice shards and crystals which rupture the membrane, thereby destroying the cell. That means there will be no collateral damage to healthy tissue. Procedures typically last from 5 to 25 seconds as the penetration of the cold is approximately 1mm per 5 seconds of treatment, so you can be in and out of the salon quickly. There is no downtime and it is advisable to leave the area uncovered to speed up the healing process. As long as you protect the area from abrasion or damage, there are no limitations to activities straight after the treatment e.g. work, swimming, bathing.

What are warts?

Warts are small growths that can take shape anywhere on the body and can look like a small cauliflower or a solid blister. They are caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. People are more likely to have warts if they have a weakened immune system.

What are skin tags?

Skin tags are growths on your skin which are small and skin-coloured. They can range from a few millimetres to 5cm wide. Unlike warts, they are soft, hang off the skin, and are not contagious. They are made of blood vessels and loose collagen. The exact cause of skin tags is not known - as they usually occur in skin folds, friction may play a part in the cause.

What is milia?

Milia are cysts that appear on the skin which are small and non-inflamed. They develop when keratin skin cells get trapped underneath the skin’s surface and skin does not shed dead skin cells or exfoliate properly. Milia are harmless and most commonly appear on the cheeks, around the eyes, nose and forehead.
