The best beauty trends for Spring 2016
Although we’re still in the depths of winter, it’s never too early so start dreaming of spring in all it’s pastel coloured glory.
It may be January, but it’s a good time to start brightening up your day with a new look or fresh claws to abolish the winter blues.
We’ve scouted out some of our favourite beauty trends for the upcoming season to share with you, so take your pick and freshen up your beauty routine.
The good news is that for most of these trends, you won’t need up update your make up bag too much, and most of the spring trends are dominated by easy, lived in make up looks.
Eyebrows have made a huge comeback in recent years, and most of us can’t bear to look at old photos without dying inside over our undefined, unbrushed brows. This year brows will hold their own in the beauty stakes, and will be teamed with worn in, smudgy eyeliner and soft eyeshadow looks.
We love using HD Brows Eye and Brow palette (Foxy is our favourite) to achieve a defined arch and clean look.
Messy, lived in hair
Think of Blake Lively’s long waves as your inspiration. You can get a lovely wave from twisting your hair into a tight bun while it’s damp and leaving it in for a good 12 hours. No heat styling, no fuss, Spring will also be welcoming textured, dishevelled ponytails and slept in curls. Put away your straighteners, it’s all about hair that softens your face.
Grungy, party makeup
This trend can be summed in three words: A glamourous hangover. If you like the sound of this, accomplish the look with lots of smudgy kohl and bold brows.
As if we needed another excuse for happy hour.
Matte bronzers will be seen everywhere to create a warm, natural sunkissed glow rather than harsh bronzing. Although contouring will still conquer the beauty stakes, emphasis this Spring will be on an easy, lazy glow.
Spring in a nutshell: It’s is all about being lived in
The runways of Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs were all about morning after makeup and rough hair. Which sound easy enough to us! Although we’re not telling you to roll out of bed and go to work with raccoon eyes, we do advise some light eye smudging.
On the other side of things, fashion empires such as Victoria Beckham and Oscar De La Renta had a more polished approach, with matte lips and old romantic looks such as luxury ponytails and softly illuminated cheekbones. For glowing skin, we recommend the HD Brows Illuminator.
Other things we loved from the runways:
